Finding My Lane: Why I’m Choosing Purpose Over Products

Five years ago, I was stuck.

I was in my head all the time — hard on myself, unforgiving, and exhausted. I had been working with my coach, Lee Williams, for over five years, and he had helped me tremendously. In fact, it was because of Lee’s coaching that I had finally created the finances and stability to even consider the next step.

But I had reached a natural plateau.
It wasn’t that I was going backward — I just knew I had gone as far as I could with that particular chapter of my coaching journey.

My History With Klemmer
This wasn’t my first exposure to Klemmer & Associates. In fact, my first Personal Mastery Seminar with Klemmer was almost 20 years earlier. I loved it so much that I attended over and over again for years. Those events planted seeds that stayed with me for decades.

But after years of working with Lee, I received an email from Klemmer that stopped me in my tracks.

It was an invitation to their Advanced Leadership Seminar (ALS).

I realized:
 - I now had the financial means to go (thanks to Lee’s coaching).
 - I was ready for a new level of challenge.
 - I was prepared to graduate from one season of mentorship and step into another.

So, I signed up.

The Shift
ALS was the spark that reignited my personal growth. From there, I dove into more Klemmer programs — Heart of the Samurai, Sam Camp, and even the Klemmer Coaching Academy — and my mindset and personal development accelerated like never before.

Ironically, it was also during COVID that I had the stillness and space to integrate all of it. That combination — years of foundation with Lee, the ignition of ALS, and the deep work of Klemmer’s advanced trainings — was the turning point.

And looking back now, I see that the most important thing I needed back then wasn’t another product, supplement, or “quick fix.”

I needed a coach.
I needed guidance, encouragement, and accountability.
I needed someone to call out the inconsistencies in my thinking and hold up a mirror to my blind spots.
I needed a framework — a path forward.

Chasing Clarity
Fast forward to today, and I’m in a season of refining my focus. I’ve been asking:
When I’m earning several million dollars a year, what will my life and work actually look like?

I can picture it clearly: a small handful of personal coaching clients paying premium rates for deep transformation, a few powerful events each year, maybe even a summit with other leaders.

What excites me is personal development. Faith. Transformation. Helping people move from stuck to free.

My True North
When I strip it all back, my purpose is simple:
I want to be a beacon of hope.
I want to help people find hope, peace, and happiness.
I want to help people learn how to love themselves - truly and deeply!

For me, that’s the heartbeat of everything — whether I’m coaching, speaking, hosting an event, or even working on my side projects.

The Compassionate Millionaire
My company brand, The Compassionate Millionaire, is inspired by all the influences that have shaped me over the last 40 years. I had been trying to come up with a name that described what i wanted to teach (what I had learned myself), and one day it popped into my mind like a bolt of lightning. When I searched to see if someone had already taken the name, I was shocked to find that no one had - so I grabbed it, bought the dot-com and quickly trademarked the name.

The vision is to create a framework — a clear path for people who feel stuck, just like I did five years ago — that blends faith in a higher power/energy, mindset, and practical action. It’s not about hype or “quick wins.” It’s about real transformation.

That’s the lane I’m choosing.

And the truth is… I’m still building it.
This blog is part of documenting that journey — the messy middle between “not there yet” and “mission accomplished.” If you’ve been in that space, you know it’s not always glamorous. But it is real. And sometimes, real is exactly what we need.
